Insights, tips and guidance from your local marketing & SEO experts

Is this the best social media posting tool for small and local businesses?

If you're a small business marketer looking for an affordable, all-in-one social media platform to help you create and schedule content for the likes of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and even your Google Business Profile, then this particular social media platform could be just what you need.

It's particularly strong for businesses that rely heavily on visual content for platforms like Instagram.

However, when we started using it way back in early 2022, the big draw for us was the ability to schedule Google Business Profile posts - essential for us as local marketing experts, but oddly something very few of their competitors were offering.

Small business clients and associates often ask us for platform recommendations, so we thought we'd share our thoughts on a little-known but very much appreciated social media posting tool called Pallyy.

The pros

Here are a few of the key benefits of using Pallyy for your social media content…

Comprehensive scheduling

Pallyy allows you to plan, schedule, and automatically publish posts across various platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Business, TikTok, and Pinterest. It provides calendar, grid, and board views to help you organise your content visually.

Affordable pricing

Compared to many competitors like Hootsuite and Later, Pallyy is often seen as a more cost-effective option. This makes it an attractive choice for freelancers, small businesses, and agencies on a budget. It also offers a "free forever" plan for users with basic needs.

Visual-first approach

Pallyy provides a visual planner, which is especially useful for Instagram, allowing you to preview how your content will look on your feed before it's published. It also has a seamless integration with Canva, so you can design and schedule posts from a single workflow.

Efficient content creation

Pallyy offers several features that speed up content creation:

  • An AI caption generator to help with writer's block.

  • Saved hashtag lists to keep your hashtags organised and consistent.

  • A media library for storing and managing your images and videos.

Centralised inbox

The platform has a unified social inbox that pulls comments and messages from your connected accounts into one dashboard. This lets you manage audience engagement without having to switch between different social media apps.

Strong Instagram toolkit

Pallyy was originally focused on Instagram and offers particularly robust features for the platform, including:

  • In-depth analytics for tracking follower demographics, engagement, and top-performing posts.

  • A link-in-bio tool to create a mobile-optimised landing page for your profile, which includes its own analytics.

  • The ability to schedule Instagram Reels and Carousels directly.

The ability to repost (our fave!)

Pallyy allows you to repost your social media content - something we have found invaluable, particularly when sharing evergreen (i.e. always relevant) posts focused on reviews or promoting services for ourselves and our clients.

Helpful for teams and agencies

With Pallyy's "Social Sets," agencies can manage each client's social media accounts in a separate, organised group. You can also collaborate with teams using shared calendars, post approval workflows, and comment features.

Just a few cons

While we're BIG fans of Pallyy, it’s worth noting a few minor drawbacks...

  • Limited free plan: The free plan has some limitations, including only basic analytics. However, holding back some features seems reasonable to us, at least while you're checking it out.

  • Inconsistent customer support: Upon reviewing some of the review sites, we found that some users have reported issues with the customer support team; however, our own experience has always been excellent.

  • Advanced team features lacking: Pallyy may not offer the most advanced collaboration features compared to more expensive enterprise-level tools, but there's more than enough functionality for our small and local business clients.

In summary…

We'd say that Pallyy is an excellent choice for small business owners (and the consultants and agencies who work with them) who are budget-conscious and want an easy-to-use, all-in-one tool for scheduling, particularly where their strategy centres on visual-first platforms like Instagram and Google Business.

However, for businesses that may need more robust reporting for multiple team members, alternatives like Buffer or Later are also worth a look as they may offer better long-term scalability.
